What does my kid adopt and develop through the game of coding?

  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-monitoring and error correction
  • Critical thinking
  • Analytical thinking
  • If / Then logic
  • Group work, collaboration
  • Discussion and communication skills
  • Distance calculation
  • Spatial orientation

The rhythm of the program?

ArtimatIQa Junior lasts for three months. We see each other once a week at a fixed (afternoon or morning) classes and work for 75 minutes. Program includes 12 teaching units, each dedicated to the precise goal of acquiring knowledge and skills for which your child is developmentally ready. From color, shapes, sizes, spatial relationships, classification concepts, story timeline, adoption of number concepts across various polygon activities, motor exercises to Code & Go robot coding.

For children ages three and four.ArtimatIQa junior

ArtimatIQa Junior is a program designed for children ages three and four. It involves learning through play, motor skills, polygon activities aimed at solving given problems. We stimulate and work on the development of gross and fine motor skills, balance, movement coordination, eye-hand coordination as well as classification concepts.

Why coding?

We introduce children to the Code and Go robot, which guides us through the world of movement and solving complex spatial problems. Coding literally means transforming information into a form that the computer understands – we in the Junior Program tell the mouse what to do through coding. The Code & Go Mouse has simple controls – Forward, Back, Turn Right, Turn Left, and Action Button. Although it seems quite simple, your child will have to think of coding up to 40 mouse movements to solve the maze and reach the goal! All children will have the opportunity to program the movement of the robot according to their idea of solving the given problem. We encourage co-operation and joint planning among children.

Within one teaching unit, all elements are linked, so if we are working on color and shape adoption, the same topic will be addressed in motor tasks (polygon) and our Code & Go mouse will solve logical tasks related to color and shape.

For children ages five and six.ArtimatIQa kids

ArtimatIQa Kids is a program designed for children ages five and six. It involves learning through play, motor skills, polygon activities, but also more complex levels of logical-mathematical thought, more difficult tasks and more challenging levels of coding for our robots.

At this stage, emphasis is placed on logical, algorithmic and critical thinking as the requirements are higher and the tasks we will solve with the help of Code and Go robots exceed the current levels of expectations. In addition to logical tasks, we learn in associative ways and develop divergent thought.

Why coding?

Children who have completed ArtimatIQa Junior programs will already be familiar with the basics of coding and the types of tasks we do in classes. But attending the Junior Program is not a prerequisite for enrolling in the ArtimatIQa Kids program, kids are introduced to brand new robots and new tasks at the beginning of the program. Coding literally means transforming information into a form that the computer understands- in the Kids program, we are telling our robots how to navigate space, solve mazes, overcome obstacles, and reach their destination. Botley Coding Robot can remember up to 80 orders your child assigns, but whether the order will be correct and the task successful depends on the child’s concentration, attention, spatial orientation, distance calculation, collaboration with friends and many other factors.
